This is an exaggerated and highly fictional account of how Stephen at Yusho gave me a black lime (also known as loomi). It’s sitting on my desk as I type this and every now and then I take a whiff, that’s how much I love how it smells.
I want to learn how to cook with these! Does anyone have experience cooking with black limes?

pierce and add one to a big pot of stew, or blend with smoked sea salt and use as a rub, or just add a little to your couscous.
Hi by the way, thank you for your blog, for what you have shared, my therapist recommended your comic, I read the whole thing in a couple of days and I have been trying to keep your message in mind.
@Kit: Thank you so much!! I’m so flattered that a therapist recommended my comic, and I’m ecstatic if it helped even a little bit. :) I still have some difficult days, especially during these long dark winter months… it’s not easy!
Also, now I can’t wait to make some stew with my little black lime! :)
I had some traveling in Germany, eating at the home of some Iranian refugees. My companions and I found these large fruits in a cooked rice dish, similar to risotto. No sooner had we eaten them than our host started talking about the dish, and started looking for them by sifting through the rice. We said nothing, suddenly aware that they were not meant to be eaten. HAHAH!
They tasted great, but were chewy. We didn’t feel ill afterwards. True Story.
