The terribly hot and humid weather finally broke, and left us with an unbelievably perfect Sunday, which – unbelievably – both Niles and I were off work for. We had sushi, we walked by the farmers market, we tromped up and down Milwaukee avenue. We checked in on our neighbors’ cat! Then we spent a few delicious hours drinking in the outside patio at Longman and Eagle, and followed that up with dinner on the outside patio at Small Bar. There is nothing quite so enjoyable as having a cocktail in perfect weather, on a perfect patio, while also drawing comics. The only thing that could make it more perfect would be kittens, I think.

I love living in Chicago. And as much as I complain about the extremes of temperature, one of my favorite things about this city is how grateful and happy people get once the weather is perfect. This is a city that genuinely appreciates good weather, that cherishes and relishes it and makes the most of it.

I am really super excited because it looks like this nice weather will hold through the week for Chicago Wizard World comicon! Is anyone coming?? I’ll be at table 3416 in Artist Alley. I like this show a lot, mostly because I don’t have to travel very far for it. I’ll have two graphic novels, two minicomics, and a whole slew of new prints for it. Come on out and say hi! :D
