We don’t know our neighbors well; not beyond knowing their names and saying hi when we pass in the hall. But one night I ended up chatting with some of our neighbors at the Small Bar, and when I told them which unit was ours, they said “OH. You guys cook a lot. We smell the most amazing smells coming from your door.” My heart swelled with pride to hear that.
The slow cooker might be my favorite thing in the kitchen. Niles put some barbecue spare ribs in before he left for work, and they were ready to devour when I got home. Our schedules are so different, but the slow cooker is a weird kind of way for us to still be able to cook for each other. They were perfectly tender, fall-off-the-bone awesomeness, and you could smell them from the building’s mailboxes. It was pretty great.
Hey, so, I’m done with my Womanthology pages, and I’m catching up to the last few things on my schedule, which means I can get back to putting out Shuteye #6! Do you have Shuteyes #1-5? If so, get ready! In the next week or two, I’ll be asking you to take a photo of them – if you have all five, I will send you an advance copy of Shuteye #6 TOTALLY EFFING FREE. That’s how excited I am to have it finished! :D

You talk about your slow cooker a lot, and I’ve always been intrigued by the possibilities… but now I think you’ve convinced me to actually go out and get one.
NomadiCat, I totally recommend it. :D You can make so many things in it, and most of them you just throw in the pot and walk away and do something else for a few hours. Plus, if you’re making something that REALLY needs to cook slow and long, like chili or barbecue or something, it’s a lot nicer to plug in a slow cooker than to run a gas powered stovetop for 8 hours.
Speaking of, the little change in the weather has me so excited to make a big pot of chili!
Slow cookers are SO awesome for when you want a good hearty meal, and have a busy schedule. Yesterday before work, I threw in a bunch of spices, veggies, and a roast in ours and had an awesome dinner. Have you seen http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/? I’ve added like 20394823094820394820394802394 recipes to my Paprika… which, btw, is like the best recipe app for iPad EVAR!
You guys are so adorable. ❤
aw *^_^* hee hee
I don’t just have Shuteyes #1-5, I have them SIGNED! Can’t wait for #6!
Aaron: YAY!!! :D I’m working on the last few pieces this weekend, so I should have it ready to send soon! :)
