The burrata omelette at Revolution, topped with baby spinach leaves and slivered almonds, so good. Three beers and a shot on an empty stomach, leading to eating ungodly amounts of mac and cheese, very bad. Also bad: the ensuing hangover the next day. I think I could have handled the beers on the empty stomach if not for the shot, and I probably could have handled the shot if not for the empty stomach.
Still, we made a great haul at the farmer’s market. Fresh pasta from Pasta Puttana, giant portobello caps, dark chocolate covered alfajores. Followed up by brunch at Revolution, that’s a nice day. Niles made a big pan of au gratin vegetables for dinner tonight, filled with potatoes and carrots and sweet potatoes and celery root. I got my hair dyed (hooray!) and launched a website, and did an event at Third Coast Comics, so it’s been a busy weekend.
And now the fridge is stocked with greens and mushrooms and vegetables and goat cheese, and I am determined to be much smarter this week than I was on, oh, let’s say Saturday. Evil, evil Saturday.
