We went to lunch today at a place up around Lincoln and California called Woo Chon. It was wonderful! Usually when I go for Korean I order bulgogi, because it’s just too awesome. But Gregg and Tonya were raving about the bibimbap at this place, so we all got it, and it was deeelicious! I highly recommend the place. It’s adorable, for one. Plus their pajeon is apparently complimentary, and really quite good. But the bibimbap was the standout by far.

So my boyfriend works at a certain natural foods supermarket, let’s call it the “Food Hole.” :) They have some sort of healthy eating program that they’re promoting, and sometimes I come across the little flashcards they gave out to the employees. Much of the program is just common sense, some of it seems like bullcrap, but there was one thing that I read recently that really stuck in my head: the importance of eating joyfully. That being more healthy or responsible about food wasn’t incompatible with approaching food with joy and passion. It’s an idea that’s been kicking around in my head for a few weeks now, but today’s bibimbap at Woo Chon really brought it to the forefront.
